band bios

scott dennis, guitar and vocals

Scott's long history with music began at age 10 when he played trumpet in stage band. When he later took up bass guitar at 15, he quickly realized that bass wasn’t the best choice to accompany his vocals, so he eventually turned to playing his brother’s acoustic guitar a few years later. After seeing that Scott was seriously interested in guitar and willing to learn more, his brother graciously gifted him with that same instrument. Since that time, Scott has played guitar as a solo artist, as well as in duo and trio ensembles. He has also played in dance bands, for worship services, and at many other private and public events. Scott considers performing on guitar and vocals to be a primary passion in his life, and hopes that others will enjoy High Plains Connection’s music as much as he does playing along.

jeri lynn dennis, guitar and vocals

Jeri Lynn will tell you that she has always been in the entertainment industry in one form or another. Beginning early in life acting in plays and musicals and singing in choir, Jeri Lynn later discovered her niche in professional music beginning at the age of 18. Over the years, she has enjoyed singing, playing guitar, and writing original songs. Since the late 80’s, Jeri Lynn has made performing professional music a major emphasis in her life. She appreciates having had the opportunity to work alongside many incredible musicians, including the current members of High Plains Connection. Jeri Lynn considers music as a way of life and always looks forward to the next gig!

anthony walker, lead guitar, pedal steel, banjo, multiple other instruments and vocals

Anthony is a talented multi-instrumetalist who has been playing in bands since high school. For quite some time, he has played extensively throughout Colorado with many well-known bands. Anthony has always been fascinated with a wide variety of musical instruments, ever expanding his repertoire. Most recently, he has added banjo and pedal steel guitar to his lineup of instruments he enjoys playing. Anthony also sings, and when he performs on vocals, his sound has been compared to that of Paul McCartney. In addition to playing music with High Plains Connection, he is busy at his recording studio, engineering and providing instrumentation on his clients’ albums. When his schedule permits, Anthony also gives lessons on audio engineering to interested members of the local community. To be sure, audiences will appreciate the many talents that Anthony offers through his years of experience, performance skills, and delight in making great music that everyone can enjoy.

tom woolrich, bass and backup vocals

Tom began his love of music at an early age, experimenting with guitar at the age of 8. Raised primarily in Durango, he relocated to Northern Colorado in the mid 80’s and has been active in the vibrant music scene here for nearly 3 decades. Tom’s musical experience ranges from playing lead guitar in the Southern rock inspired Switchback to front man/acoustic guitarist in the rock-bluegrass fusion band, The Buckvillians. Most recently, he has played electric guitar in both the traveling country dance act known as Lendon James & The Highway 34 Band, as well as Deathbrand, a classic thrash metal band. Tom is excited to take on new challenges playing bass guitar for High Plains Connection and helping to lay down their foundation in the Front Range music scene.

steven jackson, drums and backup vocals

Steven is a self-taught drummer and percussionist who’s been performing for over 50 years. During the course of his professional music career, Steven has played with several well-known personalities including Michael Franti, Steve Manshel, Bob Webb, and Bob Margolin.
